What is Ackee?

The key ingredient of Jamaica's National Dish - Ackee And Saltfish. Also known as ankye, achee, akee, ackee apple or ayee is a fruit of the Sapindaceae family, as are the lychee and the longan. It is native to tropical West Africa.
